Jeff Durosko

Jeff Durosko is the former VP of Corporate Communications with Education Management Corporation where he managed all aspects of public relations, including national media relations, event-focused media relations and trade media relations. Among his most high profile projects while there were The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef competition which garnered coverage on everything from NBC’s Today Show and the Ellen DeGeneres Show to Parade Magazine and CosmoGirl Magazine, along with local and national newspaper, magazine, television, radio and Internet coverage. He also created and managed EDMC’s first-ever work in the area of employee communications. His work at EDMC also included media placements in USA Today, the Wall Street Journal and numerous trade publications important to the organization, including Animation magazine and Chef Educator.

Since launching his business, Durosko has worked with a wide variety of clients on writing, strategic communications planning, crisis communications, media relations and event promotion projects.

An award-winning writer, Jeff’s previous experience at Robert Morris College (now University), the Greater Pittsburgh Office of Promotion and Price Waterhouse, all involved local and national media relations management. His nose for news and journalism experience enables Durosko to only approach editors with stories that they would have an interest in, thus increasing the possibility of placement or at least for future consideration.

Durosko is an experienced media trainer, who has conducted media and spokesperson training sessions for corporate leaders, school presidents and communications professionals.

At the Office of Promotion, Durosko was responsible for all publicity related to the opening of the new Pittsburgh International Airport. In the area of media relations, Jeff produced numerous quantifiable achievements, including contact with 500+ media outlets, 3 media tours, 4 AP wire stories that led to 200 articles across 150 newspapers, and 60 stories from video news releases and b-roll packages sent to 660 U.S. television stations. His work resulted in major placements in international aviation journals, such as Aviation Week & Space Technology, Aviation Daily, Commercial Aviation News and Airports International. Coverage in travel and business publications included: Frequent Flyer, Business Flyer, Sales & Marketing Management, Meeting News, Travel Weekly and Successful Meetings.

Major media placements included The New York Times, Fortune Magazine, NBC Nightly News, USA Today, CNBC, The Today Show, ABC Radio Network News, CNN and CBS This Morning, the Chicago Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, Time’s International edition and the Christian Science Monitor.

Durosko has a great mind for promotion as evidenced by the many successful contests and promotions created and managed for The Art Institutes. With nearly 20 years of experience working with institutions of higher education, Durosko understands the issues facing career colleges today.
